Awkward.

Oh yeah, I remember now; I play guitar. It's a bit of a shock to the system when all you do is play bass all the time. Feels a bit awkward especially in the solos. But it was hellish good fun.

If you're one of those cats that says "oh yeah, I got his first album" once a dude gets famous then I suggest you look up Marcus Bonfanti now so you can say "oh yeah, I got his first album" and it'll actually be true. But you'd better get moving cos he's already got about 3 albums out now. Great blues man, reminds me why I love music.

Mama'Stel

Unlike "Lightning Boy" Ralph Macchio in the film Crossroads I will not be utilising elements of classical music to beat the devils champion at playing the guitar. I will mostly be playing the blues. My new band Mama'Stel plays its first gig on Friday. It's been a long time since I played guitar in a band.

So I get this call saying "Do you want to set up the gig now or what?" and I'm a little bit like "er- i'm watching Dr Who on the iPlayer right now" but then I think "it might be quite useful to set up right now actually". Anyway, we're part way though setting up when the act turns up and I'm like "wow, you're lucky we're even here" and he's like "cool, whatever". Anyway- we sound-check and are totally at a loose end for the rest of the day. So we get back to my place, chat, have a coffee or two, jam some stuff- this is like the best day of my life, but I'm totally keeping a lid on it if you know what I mean.
